Atlanta, GA (November 14, 2019)?The Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) is proud to announce fifty-four?frontrunners of the first John A. Hartford Foundation Tipping Point Challenge.?The Challenge is the cornerstone of a national campaign aimed at creating a tipping point in the improvement of care quality delivered to millions living with a serious illness. Over 15oo organizations participated in the Challenge.?Winners will be announced in January.
?People living with a serious illness such as cancer, CHF, COPD, Parkinson?s, and more, experience pain and other symptoms, and enormous caregiver distress,? said Diane E. Meier, MD, director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care. ?Despite the rapid growth of palliative care, gaps in care remain. CAPC aims to change this. We are extremely proud of the enthusiasm and focused participation of our field. We want to congratulate all the frontrunners.”
